BioBag Dog (5 biscuits)

Our take: These 100 percent biodegradable and compostable bags are terrific. Essentially made from corn, the BioBag meets the ASTM D6400 specification and a new California law for biodegradable and compostable product claims--meaning they really do what they say they do on the label.

They stay stable on the shelf until used, and then decompose in a composting environment within 10 to 45 days. You can toss these in your compost pile where micro-organisms will eat both the bag and the poop, or you can send the bags to commercial composting sites. (Using the compost in your garden isn't recommended, because there's a risk of E. coli contamination.)

BioBag also makes biodegradable bags for the kitchen and lawn.
