A virus that is the common cause of diarrhea in puppies, it can also affect older dogs. It is highly contagious and can cause vomiting, diarrhea and dehydration as a result. There is no cure but there are several therapies recommended by veterinarians. It is important to kill the virus through sanitation and to understand that your dog is a carrier for 4 months after they have contracted the virus.
