Top activities:

  • Walking--long leisurely ones or multiple short ones. Even couch potatoes need exercise
  • Accompanying you on errands around town, or hanging out in a cafe.
  • Assuming the belly-scratching position
  • Snoozing alongside you, preferably on a soft blanket or the couch

Those couch potatoe dogs really will indulge in some great walking exercise. If left to their own devices they would just keep ... well, being couch potatoes. That leads to a dog being overweight and even more inclined to not want to do anything. Walk, walk, walk. It's a natural dog instinct. They will do it, but prefer you doing it with them. Good bonding, good exercise, good for everyone.
