Some breeds were originally bred in hot climates and can handle the heat much better than those who were not. If your apartment is located in an area where the climate is hot or very warm, do your research and find a good apartment dog who will be healthy and comfortable when temperatures soar. Steer clear of dog breeds with short or "smushed-in" muzzles since they have reduced panting capabilities which help dogs stay cool.
