The "Good Breeder" program is aimed to help potential dog owners identify characteristics of what to look for in a good and reputable breeder. DogTime's mission to provide interested dog owners with the information they need to be sure that they are ready for a dog, how to choose the right dog, and how to properly train and care for the dog through all the stages of its life. Part of this responsibility is to provide education on how to identify a reputable breeder, so the owners can feel comfortable they are buying a healthy, happy dog. The list below contains breeders who have agreed to post the "Good Breeder" badge on their site. This badge leads to a checklist to help potential dog owners begin to understand how to choose their dog from a reputable breeder. Note: DogTime does not endorse any breeder. We recommend readers research and interview breeders thoroughly before buying a dog. To ensure you are truly ready for the responsibility of caring for a new dog, we recommend you take the Are You Ready quiz. This quiz will take you through a series of questions to help you determine if your lifestyle is conducive for properly caring for a dog. Once you finish the quiz, take a look at our Dog Finder section. Here, you can locate dogs in your area that are available for adoption at local shelters and rescue organizations.
