Outward Hound Foul Weather Gear

Our take: This microfiber raincoat has mesh lining and breathable fabric, so I wouldn't hesitate to use it on a humid day. The fabric is lightweight, so the jacket works as both windbreaker and rain slicker. It has a removable hood, and an opening for a leash just below the neck. The traditional neck/belly velcro straps are easy to deal with, but let your dog's belly get wet.

One feature I loved: the two side bags in which you can stick poop bags--maybe even used ones.

The dogs weigh in: This has Fred's preferred neck/belly strap closure, so there was none of that offensive need to put a leg through a sleeve. And since the straps allow you to adjust the coat to fit, he was quite comfortable in it. The one thing he disliked was the hood, so I took it off.

Cost: middle
