Pet Gear Pet Steps II

Our take: My personal favorite, the Pet Gear Pet Steps are wide, solid, and stable, which makes this especially suitable if you've got hardwood or tile floors. Instability will frighten the dog. The carpeting that covers the steps, which makes it easy for the dog to walk, can be removed for washing. These steps are easy to assemble, even for non-mechanical types.

The dogs weigh in: Fred found this simple and easy. This big boy can handle dogs weighing up to 150 pounds. Fred took one look at it and clambered up with no hesitation. It remained his favorite so that's what we ended up using permanently.

Cost: High
