Our take: These 100 percent biodegradable bags have the rectangular shape that makes pick up easy, and come in regular or jumbo size (for Great Dane owners, I suppose). They meet the ASTM D6400 specification for biodegradable product claims--meaning they really do biodegrade--they're made from corn and other renewable products, and they have no chemical additives.

After use, the poop bags will decompose within 60 to 90 days in a commercial composting environment. The manufacturer doesn't recommend using them in your home compost, because of the danger of E. coli contamination.

Cost: high
