Sally Harrell dog tags

Our take: These tags are handmade by a metal smith. My dog Fred wore his for years, and now that he's gone, it's pretty enough for me to wear as a necklace.

You can pick the metal your tag's made from--either nickel silver or brass--as well as the typeface and size. The dog's name is printed on the front, contact info on the back. Because the tags are handmade, it's about a five-week wait from order until delivery, but it's well worth it. The only downside is, you can't fit too much information on the smaller sizes.

Cost: high
