Beautiful baby in the high desert

Dispatch from the Santa Fe Humane Society shelter, September 1, 2009

She's six months old and the color of rich milk chocolate. I wish I knew what New Mexican desert scent had her so enthralled today on our walk, but I'm satisfied just to stare at her image. That is one beautiful animal.

The pittie is a stray, but clearly was someone's pet. She sports a fancy collar, knows to sit for a treat, and responds to petting and cooing like a dog who has not been denied either. What is such a well-adjusted, gorgeous dog doing in the municipal shelter? I may never know. But if her humans are missing her, I sure hope they think to get in touch...

She is gorgeous ! I hope she founds a new home soon . I hate to see how Pitt Bulls sometimes end up in hands of people that all they teach them is how to be hostile and agressive. I dog will protect you if you are in danger . Just give them good love and care
