The Show Off Pet Collar and Leash

Our take: The cool thing about the handmade leashes and collars from Annie's Sweatshop is that the hard parts--collar buckles, D-loops, and sliders and leash swivel locks--are repurposed from used dog gear. The really, really cool part is that you get a $5 rebate if you mail them parts to reuse when you make your order. Although I worry somewhat about the strength of repurposed buckles, I love the idea.

The collars, leashes, and harnesses are made of sturdy cotton webbing and come in 16 colorful patterns. Some of the fabric is also repurposed. The collars and leashes can stand up to machine washing and drying.

Cost: high
