Dogs with wanderlust become fascinated with a scent trail or wild bunny and follow them without thought to where they're going or how they will ever find their way back. That's why keeping your dog on a leash or tie-down anchor when out in your unfenced yard is so important. You should also have your dog microchipped and attach ID tags to his collar in case he does escape and get lost.
