"Hello- Has no one who helped compile this list never had a LAB, one of the VERY smartest dogs we've ever known, as well as our Boykin Spaniel-cockers and beagles, as well- and Chihuahuas-All very smart in our experience! I feel like our Lab could've been enrolled in a Police program for search dogs. She knows more vocabulary than a lot of young kids. No kidding.

American Eskimo Dogs really aren't from Alaska or the Eskimos. If you've ever been to a circus and seen the beautiful white dogs riding on the backs of those big white horses, then you've seen an "ESKIE." Devoted and highly agile, these dogs can live longer than most. They are excellent alert dogs, letting you know every noise that isn't suppose to be there. Season grooming is necessary due to their double coat but most love to be groomed and brushed. While these dogs are often chosen because as puppies, they are big white balls of fut, once grown they can devote the same bad habits as any dogs if neglected therefore, many times they end up in shelters in poor condition. We all love puppies but, if you think an ESKIE is the dog for you, look to adopt from a shelter or rescue organization.
