The Great Cat Declawing Debate

I had one cat declawed years ago, i did it because she couldnt hear, and if she got outside, she would get herself in a tree and stay there for long periods of time before anyone would find her (yes she did this several times) If you called for the cat, she never called back. When we did get her back, she was thin, and beaten a bit by the elements. I now have 4 cats, one indoor outdoor, the others strictly indoors.... (continued)

The Great Cat Declawing Debate

You have to take into consideration that there could be special circumstances. I have had many, many cats and refused to declaw any of them - until this last one - I am very allergic to cats, and when the cat allergies "kick in" so-to-speak, I have problems w/ my asthma. Just being around cats doesn't make it all that bad, but if I'm scratched by one, the area swells up and turns red and painful - and then all th... (continued)

The Great Cat Declawing Debate

I believe declawing is horrible, inhumane and should not even be an option. Do you de-tooth a dog for chewing? Cats have claws. If one cannot deal with that, then they should not have a cat. There is no benefit to the cat whatsoever.

The Great Cat Declawing Debate

People will often say "declawing is better than leaving the animal at a shelter" but in reality, most people with a problem with claws would not have gotten a cat in the first place if they knew they couldn't declaw it. People once used that same excuse to debark dogs, but now that most vets will not perform that procedure, there are no more dogs being turned in to shelters for barking. People simply work around it... (continued)

Man poisons barking dogs

AaaHahahahaaaa! I hate the dog owner more than anyone else; she should've spent the $4000 on obedience training, or bark collars. Too bad the dogs had to suffer because if their stupid owner.

The Myth of the Solitary Cat

I currently have 3 cats, all of which cuddle together, play together as if they were still kittens and all 3 LOVE to ride around on my shoulders. This can prove to be difficult since one of them is 17 pounds! People who say cats are aloof have never really gotten to know cats.

The Myth of the Solitary Cat

The author is right; even I'd always thought of cats as aloof, and I've lived with them all my adult life. I currently have a cat who, when he's decided I've spent enough time on the computer, ALWAYS comes and plonks himself down squarely on the mousepad (when he was younger he used to drape himself over the keyboard) in what was very obviously a "PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEEEEEE" move.

Man poisons barking dogs

Wow, dog-lovers are really a self-righteous mass-murdering bunch aren't they? I'll kill you whole family if you kill Rover, blah, blah even though he barked all day, blah blah. Look, I love dogs, but unfortunately I have to sympathize with the humans, because I know all too well that piercing, god-awful YAP that chips away at your sanity day by day.
