found my parents breeder
So i have an odd story. 30 years ago my dad brought home an AKC registered doberman pinscher puppy named Nubian Sundancer. When he was about 2 years old i was born, and although he was good with the baby (aka me), i had inherited my mothers allergies, so we had to be separated most of the time. He started to poop on the floor from separation anxiety i suppose, and around the time i turned 2 or 3 it was too much be... (continued)

Trying to decide between an American Staffordshire Terrier(pitbull) or a Doberman
I have been trying to decide and have been researching for months now, I just can't decide, I would get a female dobie, or a male amstaff, i know that for sure, I have owned a lab and 3 shiba's before, other members of my family currently own pits, if someone wants to, please give me what you would pick and why, only educated people, please(meaning no one saying " oooh i want a tea-cup chihuahua!")

Dobie-Black Lab Mix?
Considering a pound dog of the aforementioned mix. It's 51 lbs at 8 mo.
I've previously trained and owned a Malamute which I loved, but hated always having to worry about it running off... Is this dog likely to roam? Thanks for any insight.

Thinking of Buying a Dobie
Hi, everyone -
I am seriously thinking about buying a Doberman and would appreciate some help in making my decision. Right now I have a 12-year-old mini schnauzer and two adult cats in my home. We're all very happy campers and I'm very afraid of ruining that - my animals are well trained and get along very nicely.
I am very experienced with dogs and have very good training skills, as do the other two adult... (continued)

docking their tails & getting their ears cropped
this dosnt only go to dobermans, it goes for all the dogs that get their ears cropped + tails docked.
i think this is the cruelest thing u can do to a dog.
cropping their ears pretty much cuts off 2/3 of their earr
& docking their tails cuts off 1/2 - 2/3 of their tails
all it does is make them look more "fierce" & risks ear infection + risk of infection and possibly death from the procedure. Other risks in... (continued)

Doberman not eating...Picky eater or could she be sick?
I have a Doberman about 6mos. old and recently she stopped eating normally. She dosn't get excited when I give her the food anymore, she just looks at it and then walks away. I've tried Iams puppy food, beneful for puppies and puppychow. should I feed her adult food now? also she only will eat if I combine canned dog food with the dry kibble. But Is this bad to do?

Frightened Doberman
My dobie becomes frightened at the sight of people. He urinates as they approaches. Is it curable by myself without sending him to a rehabiliation centre?

Akita, Doberman, or German Shepard?
I am in the later part of my research phase of selecting a breed. I have done a lot of reading on the breeds of interest and I plan on spending time with each breed
I am 29 male and we owned a male german shepard throughout my childhood years and several of my family members had these wonderful dogs as well. He was an "outside" dog as my mother is afraid of dogs. The dog I get will be an "inside" dog.

How to make doberman bark?
My dog doesnot bark when he see a stranger. He barks only when he see a Cat or Rat(or anything smaller than his size).

good with kids?
My Dobie has always been great around kids, though his exposure has been fairly limited. Do I need to be worried when my niece and nephew come stay with me next month? (They are 8 and 10.)
