Sheltie Rescue!

If you are considering adopting a Sheltie, do your homework first. They can be a bit "high-maintanance" because of their long coat and energy level. Sheltie Breed info

Your breed info pages are awesome!! they are right on point. But for the Shetland Sheepdog (sheltie) I have to say they deserve a full 5 points for family affection, friendly towards strangers and apartment appropriate. They are sweet and intelligent and great for the urban dweller who is surrounded by people. Only thing, be careful when around small children. Their hair is very tempting and easy to pull. They really don't like that, and may nip.

Beauty and Long LIfe

I had two Shelties, mother and daughter. Mother lived 17 years. I came to the inescapable conclusion that Shelties are the most beautiful dogs in the world. Mother started herding without training at 6 months of age. I miss my faithful, loving companions.

sheltie behaviour

At my sisters home in the Adelaide Hills/semi rural area today,their pet duck died of an attack. The duck was torn apart and spread over the ground and found in the neighbouring paddock through a wire fence.
