5-09-10 Added 3 pics. Sharing the Tunnel, Autie in the Field, and Autie sticking her nose in the fence to try and get closer to the neighbor's terrier mix--a little girl who is none too friendly.

2-27-10 Added 4 new pics of Autie and Bitz. Soon it'll be time for a 2 year b-day pic for Autie. I wonder if she'd mind posing in an evening gown and tiara....

11-15-09 Added 5 news pics including Autie on the trail; in her "pupcake" sweater (thanks, Lulu!); in Halloween bandana; The Bitz outside; and most important, our HAPPY GOTCHA DAY pic--Autie with her dog cookies and our cake.

Today is the first anniversary of the day I got Autie, age 8 mos. What a stressful week that first week was but we survived, buddy! We celebrated with an extra long walk, the treats, and lots of love hugs and playtime.

8-12-09: Added 3 new Autie pics including--finally--a picture with a "smile". In that mood, it's hard to get a shot of her because she never stands still.

7-3-09: Added a "Tribbles Tribute" pic. She was a sweet dog and great companion.

6-15-09: Added photos to gallery including scaredy-cats pic with Bitz under a bed.

What I like about my dog

Her energy and love for people. Her company. Those funny quirks that make me smile. How one minute she's frightened by something new and next independent and confident.

What my dog likes best about me

Besides treats, probably that I try to play with her whenever I can even if it's only a few minutes at lunchtime.

People I've met through my dog

On the walking trail, about a hundred so far.

If I didn't have a dog, I'd like a...

another nice cat. Fantasy pet: a gentle horse

Autumn or Autie

Autumn or Autie

  • white fluffy mix
  • 3 years (27 dog years)
  • Naughty Autie, Twisty-Twister, White Monkey, Bubba, Bubbles, Pinky, Lovebug, Autie-BaGotty, Schmupp, Odd, Wiggle-Worm, Stinker
  • dancing on hind legs with quick turns
  • eating flies, apparently, and trying to bury bones in the carpet with her nose
  • fluffy, needed a home, I needed a nice dog to love and small enough to carry
  • She came from a shelter at 8 months in Nov 2008. The shelter staff told me she was the most timid dog they'd ever had because she apparently never went out and lived with only one person. Sure enough, on our first walk, she was afraid of everything especially loud noises. After months, she's much improved. I lost my previous pal in April 2008. It made me tear up to accept that I had to move on sometime and that Autie was being born when my other pal was on her way out of this world. Autie has shown me a new appreciation for life. I try very hard to make every moment count with her.
