My first blog comment was considered "thoroughly regrettable" by another dog lover who failed to perceive my concerns about castrating male dogs as a matter of course at six weeks to six months. As an animal rights activist, I fail to see why a fair discussion of the social policy of controlling unwanted birthing vs controlling animal behavior should not be approached from a scientific perspective rather than from a humane society propaganda perspective where animal control is paramount. Recently it has been discovered "fixing" a dog lowers its intelligence. That is enough to warrant discussion
