Marion Nestle and Malden Nesheim

Profession: Nutritionist

Marion Nestle is the Paulette Goddard professor of nutrition, food studies, and public health, and professor of sociology at New York University.  She is also visiting professor in the College of Agriculture's nutritional sciences division at Cornell University.  She is the author of Food Politics: How the Food Industry Influences Nutrition and Health (2002, revised edition 2007), Safe Food: Bacteria, Biotechnology, and Bioterrorism (2003), and What to Eat (2006). Her latest book is about the pet food recalls of 2007: Pet Food Politics: The Chihuahua in the Coal Mine (September, 2008).

  Malden Nesheim is professor of nutritional sciences and provost emeritus at Cornell University.  He worked for many years as an animal nutritionist, and was a co-author of Nutrition of the Chicken (1982) and Poultry Production (10th to 13th editions, the latest in 1990).   They are the food editors of Bark magazine and are writing a book, What Pets Eat, for Harcourt.
