Whine and cheese
If you're casting about looking for an excuse to bring your favorite hounds and humans together, consider hosting a whine and cheese gathering. This is the party for the sophisticated set--people and dogs you love, getting together to enjoy the finer things in life.
You can bill it as a conventional cocktail hour (to which dogs just happen to be welcome). Or, Fido can be the focus, an affair replete with mini spam sandwiches and carob-dipped strawberries. Anything in between works too.
One note of caution: If brie and manchego are on the menu for the humans, keep the cheese trays well out of reach of the canines. Unless you want to be hosting a carpet cleaning party the following morning.
