Drinkwell Platinum
Our take: The most expensive of the water systems I tested, this product was also my favorite. It's designed wisely, runs quietly thanks to a submersible pump, filters the water, and was easy to assemble. It has a huge 168-ounce capacity, so it's good for big dogs or multi-dog households. A free-falling five-inch stream keeps the water tasting fresh, and there's a pre-filter to catch stuff like hair and crumbs before it gets to the motor and clogs it up.
The dogs weigh in: Neither of my dogs, or any visiting dog, would drink from the stream, but they were all happy to drink from the bowl it flowed into.
Cost: high
