German Shepherds... the good stuff

  • These dogs are exceptionally affectionate and completely devoted to their human family.
  • German Shepherds are highly intelligent and catch on quickly to training.

German Shepherds... don't say we didn't warn you

  • Some German Shepherds don't do well with long stretches by themselves and should not be left alone for hours on end.
  • Many German Shepherds are highly energetic and quite playful. They require a lot of exercise to be kept happy (not to mention, manageable).
  • German Shepherds can be mouthy. Start training bite inhibition early.
  • Persistent barking and howling behaviors are quite common among German Shepherds.
  • Like many purebred dogs, German Shepherds are extra susceptible to major health problems.
