St. Jon's Natural Dog Toothpaste (5 biscuits)

Our take: If you're concerned about additives and preservatives, this is a good choice. Unlike many of its competitors, St. Jon's lists all the ingredients in the toothpaste, and it's pretty much all stuff you can recognize and pronounce: sorbitol, purified water, hydrated silica, glycerin, natural flavor (peanut), xathan gum, mushroom extract, sodium copper chlorophyllin, eucalyptus oil, and parsley seed oil. The company says the natural abrasiveness of the silica helps scrape off plaque.

It's a bit more expensive for less quantity than other toothpastes, but my dogs sure like it. The only reason I don't use this all the time is that it doesn't have enzymes, which a veterinary dentist told me was best for dogs.

The dogs weigh in: TERRIFIC, seems to be their verdict. As far as I can tell, it's like thin peanut butter coming out of a tube right into their mouths. What's not to like?
