Our take: Kennel-Aire makes all kinds of crates--wire, soft sided, and plastic--but a friend who's a regular participant at dog shows says this series is her all-time favorite. She shows small dogs, and feels the Black Professional crates are the safest because they have smaller spaces between the wires, so little paws don't get caught or injured. What's more, the crates can be folded in seconds and carried like a suitcase.

The crates have a plastic bottom that slides out for cleaning, and they come in three sizes. You can also buy a divider for housetraining a puppy.
