MidWest dog crates

MidWest (5 biscuits)

Our take: Many folks are big fans of MidWest's collapsible metal crates, believing they offer the best quality at a decent price. The crates are pretty basic: All have a plastic pan bottom that you can cover with a pad or some type of bedding. You can choose a model with one, two, or three doors. Many of the models have divider panels for housetraining a growing puppy. You have to assemble them yourself, but no tools are required and it's not too complicated. They've got sizes to fit any kind of dog.

They're known for their wire crates, but MidWest also sells two lines of portable, soft fabric crates: the Canine Camper and the Day Tripper. They both fold closed and pop open; the main difference seems to be the number of doors (the Canine Campers have two, the Day Trippers have one).

Cost: low

These crates are great. They were my top pick in my dog-crate review: http://hubpages.com/hub/topdogkennels

I have the Midwest 2 door collapsible crates and I love them. I especially liked the divider since I could use the same crate for potty training my dog when she was a puppy and then as a transport crate in the back of my SUV when she reached adult size. uv
