Oster Powerpro Ultra Cordless Clipper Kit

Our take: Designed for professionals, this puppy is a powerhouse. The battery pack recharges within 20 minutes, and the battery runs for 30. The recharging stand can take two battery packs so you never miss a beat. Oster says the PowerPro is essentially the same as their industry standard-setting Oster A5, but more powerful--despite being cordless.

It's also a big heavy thing weighing in at about a pound a half, and a bit noisy. But I loved the ergonomic design and nonslip grip.

Cost: high
