Wahl Arco SE

Our take: At 10 terrific ounces, this clipper is lightweight and easy to hold, yet powerful enough to get you through the day. It's also quieter than the Andis Super AGR and Oster PowerPro.

Like the AGR and the PowerPro, you can charge one battery while using the other. A great feature is the adjustable 5-position blade ranging from #9 to #40. Safety tip: Novices should not use the #40 unless your dog is about to have surgery, as he will probably look like he was groomed in a Cuisinart.

Cost: middle
